An LED (light-emitting diode) Mask is a DIY skin treatment that can be done at home. LED therapy is a form of phototherapy. The red LED light (630-700 nm) is the best as it has the most subcutaneous penetration depth. Red LED light stimulates collagen production and elastic fiber levels in the skin, improving the visible signs of aging like fine lines and wrinkles. It reduces skin roughness and gives it an overall smoother and plumper look. It’s known to increase type I procollagen levels by 31%, contributing to quicker wound healing. The red LED light promotes skin rejuvenation. It’s good for acne scarring, rosacea, bruising, and other skin inflammations. The red light’s regenerative properties help tackle the negative effects of sun exposure and reduce the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines.
-
The blue LED light (400- 470 nm) is most often used for treating acne and maskne. It has proved to be successful in eliminating the acne-causing bacteria and reducing excess oil production in the skin. This, in turn, helps prevent acne, blackheads, and whiteheads. Blue light also helps speed up the healing process and treats superficial dermatological conditions. It helps brighten and tighten the dull, saggy skin. It also comes with photoprotective properties. This color can also be used by those suffering from skin sensitivity as it reduces inflammations and purifies the skin.
-
The green LED light (495-570 nm) is great for skin brightening. It gives you radiant-looking skin. It reduces the hyperpigmentation in the skin to reveal an even-toned brighter looking skin. If you’re someone with super sensitive skin, this is your go-to color. It helps calm and soothes your skin. The green light protects you against sun damage and helps in controlling acne.
-
The orange LED light (585-620 nm) helps revitalize your skin and gives it a brighter look. It improves your complexion by transforming dull, lackluster skin into brighter and lively-looking skin. It’s well known for its ability to reduce skin sensitivity, especially on Indian skin types, due to its unique design. The orange LED light also provides photoprotection. It helps reduce wrinkles and fine lines, the most common aging signs present in the skin.
