Salicylic Acid
See All Ingredients- Step 1 - Prep: Start with clean, dry skin. Best used at bedtime, once a week.
- Step 2 - Dispense: Dispense 3-4 pumps from the syringe dispenser. Keep hands dry when handling.
- Step 3 - Apply: Spread one thin coat over face and neck — forehead first, then cheeks, then central face. Your application should ideally be completed in under 30 seconds. Make sure to apply without rubbing. Avoid around the eyes, lips, or on mucosa.
- Step 4 - Time and rinse: Leave on for 60 - 90 seconds in total, then wash off thoroughly with cold water and a mild cleanser.
- Step 5 - Cool and follow: Cool with an ice cube for 1–2 minutes if tingling persists. If skin feels rough, follow with a barrier-support moisturizer (see aftercare note).
- Programme note: Once weekly at bedtime for the first 4 weeks, then step down to once every 10–14 days. The step-down is deliberate: skin needs time to grow new cells between exfoliation sessions.
- Aftercare note: If skin feels rough post-exfoliation, follow through with barrier support: Peptide Therapy Creme, Re(d)covery® Serum, or OptiMIST WaterBody® Aqua Moisturizer.
- Spot use note: For a pimple appearing between sessions, apply a tiny amount to the spot only, for no longer than 30 seconds, keeping a minimum three day gap from any full face session.

Frequently Asked Questions
-
Light Routine® Gentle is built for oily and combination skin and is not recommended for sensitive, reactive, or very dry skin. Do not use on broken or eczematous skin, or if you have a known salicylate sensitivity.
-
Yes. A brief warming or tingling sensation during the 60-second contact window is an expected treatment response — it signals active exfoliation and subsides on rinsing. Cooling the skin with an ice cube for 1–2 minutes settles any residual tingle. If stinging is sharp or persists well after rinsing, wash off immediately and pause use.
-
There is no added fragrance. What you smell is the hydroalcoholic treatment vehicle that carries salicylic acid into the pore within the 60-second window. It dissipates completely on rinsing.
-
No. Once weekly is the maximum. Use once a week at bedtime for the first 4 weeks, then step down to once every 10–14 days. The step-down is deliberate: each session clears the surface, and skin needs time to grow new cells before the next exfoliation. More frequent use does not speed results.
-
We do not recommend using Light Routine® Gentle during pregnancy or nursing.
-
Yes, before your first session. Apply a small amount behind the ear, leave for 60 seconds, then rinse off with cold water. Wait 24 hours. Brief tingling during contact is expected; persistent redness, itching, or swelling after rinsing means do not proceed. Unsure about anything you see? Reach out to us.

Because it works the way a peel works. A chemical peel uses an acid in its free, active form for a controlled contact time — and free salicylic acid exists only in certain format like the hydroalcoholic base in Light Routine Gentle. Formulas buffered to skin neutral comfort leave much of their acid inactive; they are washes, not peels. Light Routine® Gentle keeps the treatment pH and manages comfort the way clinics do: 60 seconds of contact, then rinse.
-
Purging is not common with this format. In some acne-prone users the first sessions may briefly bring existing congestion to the surface; this settles as sessions continue. If skin feels rough after a session, follow through with barrier support — Peptide Therapy Creme, Re(d)covery® Serum, or OptiMIST WaterBody®. Persistent irritation is different: pause use and consult your dermatologist.
-
Yes. For a pimple appearing between sessions, apply a tiny amount to the spot only, for no longer than 30 seconds, keeping a minimum three-day gap from any full-face session.
-
Keep the peel session isolated: do not use AHA or BHA cleansers, toners, or masks on the same day, and keep at least 2 days between Light Routine® Gentle and any retinol product to prevent over-exfoliation. After a session, once the peel is fully rinsed off, Re(d)covery® Serum, OptiMIST WaterBody® Aqua Moisturizer, or Peptide Therapy Creme may follow.
-
The formula returns unchanged; the packaging is re-engineered. The earlier glass bottle is replaced by a syringe-type dispenser: precise drop-controlled dosing, a narrow capped orifice in place of a wide open neck, and no spill or breakage risk. Each unit now carries a 12-month use period after opening.
-
Because the formula is engineered as a peel, not a leave-on. The full action of the salicylic acid completes within the 60-second window — the same short-contact principle used in clinic protocols. Limiting contact time, rather than diluting the formula, is what lets treatment strength and tolerability coexist.
